One postdoctoral position addressed to candidates with a strong background in molecular biology/biochemistry are available in the laboratory of Plasticentropy.

The startup is focused on degradation of synthetic polymers (plastics) via biological means. Our specific interest is centred on the wax worms’ enzymes capable of degrading polyethylene (one of the most used and most resilient plastic materials) and other plastics.

Plasticentropy is situated in the Centre of
Biotechnology and Bioeconomy (CEBB), a multidisciplinary research centre focused on biotechnology and green chemistry.

CEBB targets the development of state-ofthe-art technologies for the field of bioremediation and valorisation of waste and bioresources. The Institute is situated in the Grand Reims region, and constitutes a hub among four diverse institutions, AgroParisTech, CentraleSupélec, NEOMA Business School and the University of Reims Champagne-Ardenne (URCA).

The multidisciplinary of the center and the strong focus on the multifaced aspects of environmental bioremediation makes it a very unique research institute and the proper fit for plasticentropy and plastic degradation by biological means.

Skills in protein expression in heterologous systems such as bacteria and yeasts are required.
